Industrial Automation
Engineering

Reliable, maintainable automation that solves real production problems, delivered from specification to commissioning alongside your team.

PLC Programming

Control systems built in Siemens TIA Portal, from ladder logic to structured text, written to be read and maintained by the people who inherit them.

  • Siemens S7-1200 / S7-1500
  • Ladder Logic & Structured Text
  • Function Block Libraries

HMI & SCADA Design

Clear operator interfaces that reduce errors and cut training time, built in WinCC and designed around the people who use them on every shift.

  • WinCC Advanced / Professional
  • Operator-Focused UI/UX
  • Alarm & Event Management

System Integration

Connecting PLCs, sensors, drives and communication protocols into one working system, on new builds and on retrofits of equipment that is already in service.

  • Profinet & Modbus TCP/RTU
  • OPC UA Integration
  • Sensors, Drives and Field Devices

Automation Consulting

Not sure where to start? I assess the line, identify what is worth automating and deliver a clear roadmap from concept through commissioning.

Building Moons

Engineering tools for the IT/OT boundary. Built local first, so project data never leaves the machine it runs on.

An HMI tag that references a PLC tag which has been renamed or deleted will still compile and download. It waits for you until commissioning, with the machine in front of you. Moons finds those inconsistencies in the project, before the machine does.

Two design decisions shape everything else. Every finding comes from a deterministic rule, not from a language model, so the same project always produces the same result and the model only writes the explanation. And all inference runs on the local machine, with no cloud service and no outbound connection, so a customer project never leaves the site. The draft GMP Annex 22 limits GMP critical applications to static, deterministic models, and the architecture was chosen with that direction in mind.

Moons is a working prototype, tested against project exports with faults injected on purpose. It is not a validated system.

Tag Reconciliation (PLC and HMI)

Reads a TIA Portal project through Siemens TIA Openness and compares the PLC tag table against what the HMI actually references. Finds reference mismatches, duplicate references and unconnected HMI tags.

Prototype

Consistency Reporting

Every finding is reported with its exact location in the project so it can be verified by opening it and looking. An audit trail records who ran what, against which project, with which model version loaded.

Prototype

Live Comparison over OPC UA

Read the running machine over OPC UA and compare what is configured in the project against what is actually loaded on the controller. Design intent against reality.

In development

Write Back Under Approval

Today Moons reports and the engineer fixes. Writing back into the project will be gated, with a named user approving each change and the audit trail recording it. Nothing will write unattended.

From Specification
to Commissioning

A structured process that keeps projects on time, on budget and running from day one.

01

Discovery & Requirements

Your process, constraints and goals come first. Site visits, documentation review and conversations with the people who run the line produce a clear technical specification.

02

System Design

The complete system is designed before any code is written. Architecture, I/O lists, network topology, HMI wireframes. You approve the plan before building starts.

03

Development & Testing

PLC logic, HMI screens and integration layers are developed and tested in simulation first. Faults get caught at the desk rather than on your floor.

04

Commissioning & Handover

On site commissioning, operator handover and full documentation. The job is not finished until the system runs and your team is confident with it.

Engineering Automation
from Copenhagen

Deepak Saini, automation engineer at Nordic Automate in Copenhagen
Deepak Saini Automation Engineer, Copenhagen

Nordic Automate is the name I work under as an independent automation engineer in Copenhagen. It is one person, working with manufacturers, system integrators and engineering houses across Denmark.

Recent work includes an automated PCB label dispenser built for Demant A/S as a DTU capstone project, covering control architecture, sequential logic, hardware assembly, HMI and commissioning, and a ventilation control system for centralised BMS in older Danish apartment buildings.

Background: Mechatronics and Robotics at DTU, PLC commissioning and troubleshooting certified at TEC, a degree in electronics engineering, and earlier experience in production critical network support. Working in English and Danish.

Reliability First

Systems are designed for continuous operation. Uptime drives every line of code.

Transparent Process

You always know where the project stands, including the parts that are not going well.

Maintainable Design

IEC 61131-3 structure and full documentation, so your team can maintain the system long after I leave.

Common Questions

Quick answers to the questions that come up most.

What industries do you work with?

Life sciences, food and beverage, manufacturing and process industries in Denmark. The work so far has been machine level automation and control, with a focus on GMP regulated environments.

Which PLC platforms do you support?

Siemens is the primary platform: S7-1200, S7-1500 and TIA Portal, with WinCC for HMI. Profinet, Modbus and OPC UA for integration. Tell me about your hardware and I will tell you honestly whether it is a good fit.

What is IT/OT convergence and why does it matter?

IT/OT convergence connects your operational technology (PLCs, SCADA, sensors) with your IT systems (databases, analytics, cloud). The result is real-time visibility, predictive maintenance and data-driven optimization across your operation.

What is Moons and how can it help?

Moons is a Windows application I am building for automation engineers. It reads a TIA Portal project through Siemens TIA Openness and checks tag consistency between the PLC and the HMI. Findings come from deterministic rules rather than from a language model, and everything runs locally. It is a prototype, not a finished product, and it is not validated.

Do you work with system integrators or only end users?

Both. System integrators who need extra hands on PLC or HMI work, and end users who want a dedicated engineer for a defined project.

How do I get started?

Email info@nordicautomate.com or call. We can talk through what you need and I will tell you honestly whether I am the right fit, with no obligation.
